MODEL PRE-2000 MIC. "PRE-PREAMP"

Older model radios, both tube type and earlier solid state units, lack sufficient microphone gain to support the state-of-the-art TR-2000 electret microphone. Also, they do not provide a DC voltage at the microphone connector, which is required.

Both of these problems may be addressed with a battery-powered, single stage transistor "pre-preamp". We provide a practical schematic and parts list for such a device, included in the instructions for the Model TR-2000. The parts we have specified are available, inexpensively, at stores such as Radio shack .

For those operators not desiring to construct their own pre-preamp, we offer the Model PRE-2000, fully assembled and tested, constructed in a handsome, textured, black plastic enclosure, including 9-volt battery compartment, ON-OFF switch, and an integrated miniature high-reliability, red push-to-talk button. It is designed to be placed conveniently on the operating table, near the transceiver.

The Model TR-2000 headset, both assembled and kit, are priced in their basic form without connectors installed on the end of their five foot dual coaxial cable. This gives the buyer an opportunity to save the cost of labor associated with connector installation, by performing the task, himself.


For the convenience of our customers, we stock connector kits for many popular, late model radios. The kits consist of the connector(s) and other small hardware items which may be required to complete the installation. Price for connector kits is $10.00. For those individuals who prefer to purchase the headset with connectors already installed, we offer to completely install connectors on the Model TR-2000, for your "plug and play" installation on many popular, modern as well as vintage radios. When you purchase an assembled TR-2000 headset and a connector kit for your radio, installation of the connectors is now included for the low price of $58.95, plus shipping and handling. (A battery and switch at $10.00 additional may be required for vintage radios.)
